The day starts with a welcome to pupils at the school entrance. Teaching Staff meet pupils from their cars or taxis and have a chat on the way to their classroom. Staff are available to chat to parents and carers.
Lessons begin
Pupils are settled into their classrooms and the school day begins. Class teams use visual timetables, sensory breaks and refreshments to facilitate learning. Not all learning happens in the classroom – there are quiet spaces around the school, off-site activities and fresh air breaks when needed.
Lessons continue
A variety of learning activities take place to keep children engaged throughout the day. The school has dedicated learning spaces for Science, Food Technology, Art, Drama, Sports and Design Technology.
Lunch time
Lunch is prepared on site by caterers who serve hot meals in the hall for pupils. Timings are staggered so that there is a calm and steady pace to meal times - still allowing time to interact with friends.
Afternoon lessons, including offsite activities
Afternoon lessons and rotational activities, such as off-site PE, Construction and Forest Schools
End of the day
The school day ends at 3.15pm and pupils are supported by their teaching staff to their taxis and cars. It is another opportunity for parents and carers to chat to any of the school staff.
