Jackie Brooks

It has been an interesting and varied teaching career that has led me to Discovery. For many years I taught English in mainstream secondary schools in London, Birmingham and Coventry. Having also been in charge of a Special Needs Department, it seemed a natural progression, eighteen years ago, to accept a teaching position in a special school in Warwickshire. As the attachment lead, Makaton tutor and Head of RE, I experienced a range of training opportunities which I believe will enable me to make a positive contribution to the pupils at Discovery. I now also have a particular focus on our pupils in care in my role. 

I came to Discovery because my friend, who already worked here, enthused about the positive, friendly atmosphere, and I have certainly found that to be true.
