A successful trip to the World Skills Show on the 17th and 18th November helped our students look at and try a range of different possible careers at the NEC in Birmingham.
A huge thank you to everyone for helping to make today such a success. Students and staff alike put in a huge amount of effort and helped us to smash our target for Children in Need.
This week we have been celebrating Anti-Bullying week at Discovery Academy. Students have been involved in poster making, lessons on friendships and the wearing of blue ribbons in support of this year's “Wear Blue” campaign.
The pupils of Class S have been busy raising money for the British Legion's Poppy Appeal this month.
My last post stated how exciting the start of a school new year is, for many, November does not hold the same level of affection in their hearts. They leave home when it is dark, they return home when it is dark and the festive season seems weeks away.
At Discovery all months are vibrant and exciting; activities are always tailored to children’s needs and they never cease to amaze us with what they know, what they have found out or how they respond to a challenge.
