Rachel Gilbert
It was my absolute privilege to first join Discovery when it opened in 2015 having found the ethos and values uplifting. I spent five years at Discovery within a collaborative team, supporting children and young people to develop a sense of self and support their social, emotional and academic wellbeing.
Prior to Discovery my role was of a pastoral focus within an alternative provison. Both as a keyworker and supporting a team of keyworkers in the development and delivery of positive, holistic interventions to support children access new opportunities, build their self esteem and positive wellbeing to gain confidence in accessing the academic curriculum to help support enhancing their life opportunities and sense of self.
I have worked within ASC, SEMH and SEN Holistic support for over 16 years and I am passionate about supporting within these remits of education where the individual is valued and celebrated.I was incredibly pleased when an opportunity arose for me to return to Discovery and hope I can help. It barely feels like I've been away. I'm excited to start my next chapter supporting children and young people at Discovery in the development of their social, emotional and academic skills so they can be the absolute best versions of themselves and see themselves as successful within an environment where they feel accepted and can gain a sense of belonging.
