Roxanne Ashby

I joined Discovery in June 2016. I enjoy working in Special Educational Needs (SEN) provisions because it allows me to make a difference in the lives of students who may face unique challenges. Each day offers the opportunity for us to create an environment where every child is valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

I have recently taken on the role of Family Footings - 'Ready for life'. Which supports our Key stage 4 & 5 students with their transitions to further education settings, as well as ensuring that students across the school have access to the career's curriculum. 

I am extremely passionate about our career's curriculum, as it plays a vital role in preparing students for a future filled with possibilities, regardless of their learning differences. By focusing on tailored career pathways and skills development, we can help equip students with the confidence and tools they need to succeed in the world beyond school, ensuring they are not only prepared for work but also for life. It’s a joy to witness their growth, resilience, and achievements along the way.
