Many thanks to all the students and staff who completed their 22 miles for @MacmillanCancer over the month of May. The just giving site is open until the end of this week and cash / cheques can always be sent in to the school office. We welcome Mo to the academy staff this half term; he will be teaching a Y7/8 group from September and we are delighted he can transition over the next 7 weeks. We are also pleased to say we have further increased and strengthen our teaching team by the promotion of Emma and the recruitment of Carolyne (Science), Jackie (Y7/8) and Mary (Humanities Lead Teacher). We are excited about all they will bring to Discovery.

Student transition for September 2018 has started well and intensifies over the next 6 weeks. We will welcome about 11 new children in September; there are still referrals being made and we are doing all we can to accommodate requests without jeopardising our class ratios and resourcing limitations.

We hope for a dry and warm end to the year!
