Celebrating Chinese New Year
Discovery students enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year last week with a whole school cross curriculum project.
Our Chinese New Year project featured lessons including:
- understanding the origins of fireworks and which metals make their different colours in Science
- Mandarin for beginners in Modern Foreign Languages
- creating Discovery's Chinese New Year Dragon currently on display in the hall.
The topic engaged students across the school and many enjoyed the challenge of completing their Passport to China by collecting stamps for doing the activities. Winners of Chinese New Year Competition will be released soon.
