Discovery welcomed Zoolab UK to the school last week for an Amazon Adventure Animal Experience. The pupils had the chance to learn about and hold many different creatures found in Rainforest habitats including Californian corn snake, giant African land snail, stick insect, Chilean rose tarantula, tree frog, millipede and hissing cockroach.

This was a great way to bring to life the pupils’ learning about Rainforests and Brazil that the children have been focused on this term. They learnt about why and how they lived in rainforests, how they hunted prey, what they ate and where you would find them in the Rainforest.

The pupils loved the experience and it was great to see their enthusiasm and for some of them conquering their fears.

The staff from Zoolab were impressed with the warm welcome and the knowledgeable answers from the classes. As a treat, the pupils were introduced to Elsa and Anna – 2 domesticated rats – to have a cuddle with.
